What comes out of the kitchen

Quality over quantity.(Though nobody leaves hungry.)

Pizza bases go into a proper wood-fired oven. Pasta is made the traditional way. The ’nduja is the real thing. Here’s what our guests keep coming back for.

  1. 01

    Wood-fired pizza

    From the oven

Blistered, leopard-spotted crusts straight from the oven. Prosciutto, ’nduja with fresh basil, and a classic tomato and mozzarella base.

  2. 02

    Carbonara

    Guest favourite

Home-made and traditional, the way it should be. The dish our guests mention more than any other.

  3. 03

    Spaghetti bolognese

    Pasta

A generous bowl finished with grated parmesan and a basil leaf.

  4. 04

    Ribs

    Worth the detour

Not what you’d expect from a pizzeria, and one guest’s pick for the best they’ve had.

  5. 05

    Cannoli

    Dolci

Crisp shells piped with cream and finished with a drizzle of chocolate.

Vic

Owner & proprietor

The person behind the oven

Guests don’t just remember the pizza. They remember Vic.

Vic runs The River Deck with a friendly team, and he’s a real stickler for doing Italian food properly. Ask him about the ’nduja.

“He is amazing in his knowledge of authenticity and delivering an exceptional product to your table.”

Two floors. Pick your table.

Take the stairs up to the covered balcony for golden evening light and a river view, or settle into the dining room downstairs, right beside the pizza oven. Beer and wine are on hand, and takeaway is always an option.

  • Downstairs dining room beside the oven

Balcony views are the place to be. Great Italian food. The woodfire pizza was excellent and the Carbonara as well. Desserts made a good finish to our meal. Service was spot on with friendly and professional staff. First time here and will return for more 🙂

Okay, I'm so impressed is an understatement. This pizza is outstanding, if you really like pizza and understand quality over quantity, not to say they're not generous, then this is for you. I would never thought that Vic (proprietor) would have Nduja, but he is amazing in his knowledge of authenticity and delivering an exceptional product to your table. Unbelievably delicious food, do yourself a huge favour and eat at this restaurant. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Guests dining in the downstairs room

A hidden treasure

Pull up a chair, stay for cannoli.

Friendly, professional service, a relaxed room and plates worth crossing town for. First-timers say they’ll be back, and one guest returned the very next day.
